Heritage Family Credit Union (HFCU) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Chief Lending Officer (CLO) to lead the next chapter of its lending organization. This is an opportunity for an accomplished executive to shape enterprise lending strategy, help expand HFCU’s residential mortgage business, and continue building on the credit union's strong consumer and commercial lending foundation.

The CLO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and a trusted strategic partner across the organization. This leader will oversee all lending functions while balancing growth, operational excellence, member experience, and sound risk management.

Someone who enjoys creating strategy, developing people, modernizing lending, enhancing products, and identifying new opportunities to better serve members and communities. Residential mortgage lending represents an exciting opportunity for continued growth, and the next CLO will play a key role in shaping that vision while leading a high-performing lending organization.

What you will bring:

• Executive lending leadership experience within a credit union or community bank.
• Deep expertise in consumer and residential mortgage lending, with a demonstrated track record of growing or modernizing a mortgage program.
• Experience leading complex lending organizations with responsibility for multiple lending functions, including consumer, mortgage, indirect, collections, and commercial lending.
• Knowledge of mortgage operations, secondary market execution, pricing strategies, portfolio management, and consumer lending best practices.
• Experience developing or enhancing lending products, pricing strategies, and delivery channels that support sustainable loan growth and an exceptional member experience. 
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance loan growth, credit quality, profitability, and regulatory compliance.
• A passion for coaching and developing leaders while building accountability, confidence, and high-performing teams.
• A collaborative leadership style that values partnership over silos, humility over ego, and organizational success over individual recognition.
• Experience contributing to executive-level strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, portfolio management, and organizational growth initiatives. 
• Experience owning a lending technology strategy, including digital lending platforms, automated decisioning, loan origination systems, analytics, automation, and process improvements that enhance both operational efficiency and the member experience.

This position is remote, with travel to HFCU’s headquarters in Rutland, Vermont, for board meetings, executive leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, and other key organizational events.

The salary range for the position is approximately $175,000 - $272,000 annually. The target starting salary is approximately the midpoint.
