The Bert J. Hash, Jr. Fellowship was created to honor legacy Board Director, Bert J. Hash, Jr. (aka the Godfather).  Mr. Hash, although retired as the President/CEO of MECU Credit Union, is still an avid volunteer in the United States and in Africa.  He supports AACUC and ACCOSCA enthusiastically and is a member of the ACCOSCA Foundation Board.  Mr. Hash has been volunteering on the continent for over a decade.

This fellowship provides $1,000 for 12 months to an AACUC Member who is working at ACCOSCA on the continent of Africa.  The recipient will be selected by ACCOSCA’s Executive Director, AACUC’s President/CEO and Bert J. Hash Jr. or his representative.  The recipient for 2025 is Lois Kitsch.

The initial funding is from Debbie Smith, CEO of Georgia United Credit Union ($5,000).
